It is the mission of the Los Angeles County Probation Department’s Internal Affairs Office (IAO) to improve the quality of services provided, to uphold the best interest and confidence of the public, and to enhance and maintain the professional integrity of this Department and its employees. The IAO acts as the investigative arm of the Chief Probation Officer with respect to employee misconduct. An Internal Affairs complaint/referral is defined as an allegation of a specific act or omission by an employee in violation of law, regulation, policy or procedure of the Department or County. If you make a complaint against a County employee knowing that it is false, you can be held liable and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
